How Chiropractic Care Benefits Children Health Issues

As children grow, their bones move and adjust, allowing them to move freely. Children are extremely active: always stretching, flexing, running and falling. This can have a dramatic effect on their bones, sometimes causing them to be forced out of alignment. As bones are shifted, health problems can arise that can be corrected with chiropractic therapy.

Bedwetting is not uncommon among children. As they grow, however, controlling their bladder at night may be a challenge. Some doctors believe that the sacral bones of the spine can affect a child's ability to control urination once they have fallen asleep. Continually falling on their backside can cause the sacral bones to move out of place. A chiropractic adjustment can restore the proper alignment of the sacral bones and possibly correct the bedwetting issue.

Many things must be present for an ADD/ADHD diagnosis. Chiropractors believe that aggravation of the nerves associated with the neck and the cranium can contribute to the problem. A chiropractic adjustment can subdue the pressure put on the nerves and allow them to return to normal. While chiropractic adjustments do not directly affect ADD/ADHD, they do help to reduce some of the symptoms associated with its causes.

Allergies and Asthma
Allergies and asthma are upper respiratory disorders. Chiropractors can correct pressure placed on the nerves that control the lungs and other parts of the upper respiratory tract. By correcting any imbalances or misalignments, the severity of allergy and asthma symptoms can be reduced. If asthma is stress induced, a chiropractic adjustment can release tension in the shoulders, arms and neck allowing the person to relax and breathe easier.

Ear Infections
Along with upper respiratory disorders, ear infections can cause many problems with children under the age of ten. The chiropractic adjustments that help to soothe the lungs can also work to help relieve the signs and symptoms associated with ear infections and other sinus-related conditions.
