Black Friday shopping is not for the faint of heart. Getting those super bargains can mean hours on your feet, trekking from store to store, and even battling it out with other shoppers just to get near the items you really want.
- Wear Comfortable Clothing and Shoes
Black Friday isn't the day to try out those new heels you bought. Instead, wear your most comfortable, practical shoes and clothing. Pockets are good, because you can stash your keys, cash, and receipts in them, leaving your hands free to grab the bargains.
- Don't Forget to Eat
Shopping on an empty stomach can lead to irritability, fatigue, and lack of attention. Don't make the day any harder than it needs to be; pack a snack of granola bars or even a sandwich made from leftover turkey to keep your energy levels up.
- Keep Warm
In addition to battling cold weather between stores, you might find that the AC is blasting in many shops in an effort to keep shoppers comfortable and germs at bay. If you have to wait in line outside, a few extra layers can make a big difference.
- Plan Your Day
Make a list of the 'must-have' items and their locations, including which store they can be found in, and in which part of that store. Going in with a plan, and a store map, will cut down on wasted time and aggravation.
- Make a Budget, and Stick to it
This is especially important if money is tight in your household. Stores count on impulse buys from frantic shoppers, so don't fall prey to every 'amazing' deal. Stick to your shopping list, and avoid piling up debt just to grab a few more 'bargains'.
